Resources and Humanitarian Support

Interactive Discovery denounces any act of violence or aggression against humanity. We are here to support anyone who has been and/is affected by the current events. Below are mental health resources and information about organizations that provide humanitarian aid and support. 

Humanitarian Aid Organizations

  • UNICEF- supports health, nutrition, HIV prevention, education, safe drinking water, sanitation and protection for children

  • Medecins Sans Frontieres /Doctors Without Borders- MSF runs a range of activities with local volunteers, organizations, health care professionals and authorities to help people travel to health care facilities and access prescribed medications.

  • International Committee of the Red Cross- This Switzerland-based organization is aiming to help people affected by the conflict and support the work of the Red Cross.

  • Save the Children- Save the Children, based in London, helps deliver lifesaving aid to vulnerable children around the world.

  • Voices of Children- The Ukrainian organization’s Charitable Foundation helps provide psychological and psychosocial support to children affected by the armed conflict.

  • Sunflower of Peace-The nonprofit organization is raising money to prepare first aid medical tactical backpacks for paramedics and doctors on the front line.

Immigration/ICE Resources

LGBTQIA+ Programs, Services, and Organizations

  • The Door is a wonderful organization that provides a wealth of services to young people ages 12-24, and specializes in queer youth. They have a medical clinic that will provide gender affirming services - as well as a legal team that helps with name changes; mental health support; supportive housing, etc. 

  • Calle-Lorde provides sensitive, quality health care and related services targeted to New York's LGBTQ+ communities and serves youth 13-24.

  • The Ali Forney Center is the largest non-profit organization in the United States dedicated to providing shelter and healthcare services for LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness, primarily based in New York City. It aims to protect and support LGBTQ youth ages 16+ by offering various resources and services, including a drop-in center.

  • Nancy Dodson is an adolescent medicine doctor and gender nonconforming youth specialist who will prescribe necessary treatments.

  • Full Spectrum Creative Arts Therapy is a wonderful therapy practice that specializes in serving queer, trans, and gnc youth.
